Note to self

No matter how often it happens--and it happens too often--remember you love her and she loves you, no matter how awful are the things she says, which are said to provoke, which works, but you must not let it show because it only exacerbates the frustration, the frustration that came about when you tried to do something nice, tried to keep a promise, that turned out to be a big mistake because of COURSE it didn't work as planned ("fate, make me a punchline," right?) and the grunts turned into shrieks and threats then silence and avoidance and, oh GOD how you hate this and you don't want to hate her so you have to remind yourself that no matter how often it happens--and it happens too often--remember you love her...
